GET INSPIRED - MEET THE TEAM: KIRA - PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

Posted on 04 May 2017

Your next insight into the THG family is through the production coordinator Kira. This is one of the most vital roles when it comes to the production of the clothes! Kira makes sure everything is perfect before each garment gets produced. To help you understand her role and interests we have asked her a few questions.

What does a typical day look like?
Working in the production team I work closely with Keshia and Stasie - working with design and sampling and specs. I do a bit more with specs and garments because that is my background. Making sure to measure samples and ensure grading is correct etc. If there are changes to be made after the sampling I will also make sure to do those before production. Then within our little team, I always make sure sampling is running on time as well!
What are you favourite places to travel and why?
Croatia and Greece. I have done a few trips over there, for a month or two at a time. I love the food, people and how beautiful it is there. I have sailed both countries and love finding little coastal towns and spots for the evening all to ourselves.
Travel musts?
Swimwear and heaps of easy throw over cover ups. Think flowy dresses or tops, anything that you can dress up easily or just be worn casually. I like not having to worry too much about too many outfits.
Advice for someone wanting to work in Fashion?
Work hard and intern until you find your spot. Each company is different so keep moving and finding what type of role you like. If you treat it like it is a real job role and step up in your internships jobs will follow – it is all about attitude and hard work.
Your favourite styles here at THG?
I would have to say the Selena Tee Dress and the Starstruck Maxi in blue!
What do you love about working in Fashion?
I actually really enjoy the problem solving that’s involved. There are always different things that happen every day and issues that come from anywhere. To produce a collection and have it put in store there are many people involved outside of your company and many issues can arise. You just have to find a way to make any situation work.
